đŸ Mimiâs Opinion (Unfiltered)
Mimi responds to Jonâs âafter workâ couch truth⊠and yes, she has notes.
Hi.
Itâs me.
Mimi. đŸ
First of all â we need to clear something up.
You humans and we dogs?
We live very different lives.
- You go to work for 8â10 hours.
- We sleep for about 16 hours a day.
Sixteen.
Sounds amazing, right?
Let me tell you something.
Itâs also very boring.
When you work from home?
Thatâs special.
Youâre there. You move around. You make coffee. You talk.
Yes, you are often distracted by the Beeboop and the flashy light box.
But still.
Itâs something.
When you leave the house?
Very different story.
Youâve had stimulation.
Conversations.
Problems.
Coffee.
Weâve hadâŠ
Silence.
Maybe a squirrel.
Possibly a mail truck.
At one point I was 83% sure we were about to get murdered.
False alarm.
Also â you have an Amazon package.
Then you come home.
You drop your backpack.
You slump into the chair.
And I think:
âOh no. My human needs motivation.â
So I get the red ball.
It squeaks.
Nothing?
Okay.
I try faster.
Still nothing?
Strange.
You seeâŠ
You are our biggest source of entertainment and socialization.
Thatâs a big role.
A very important role.
But we have no idea what kind of day you had.
We only know this:
âWhen I get excited, you get excited.â
Thatâs what history has taught us.
So naturally â I must cheerlead you back into your shoes.
I have the ball.
Letâs go.
Now about this couch blog.
Um.
Yes.
I get it.
I need to learn to slow down.
But this house?
Itâs SO boring sometimes.
I have energy, Jon.
All that good food?
Makes me want to dig.
Or reorganize the couch cushions.
Or test gravity with random objects.
Perfectly normal activities.
And listen.
I have off days too.
Like three months ago.
For five minutes.
Itâs okay to visit Tired Town.
Just donât build a summer home there.
Also â when you walk us?
Put one earbud in.
Keep the other ear open.
Phone in your pocket.
Rock on. Sure.
But be there.
When youâre actually present?
The walk is 1000x better.
We feel it.
You feel it.
Itâs different.
Itâs calmer.
Itâs connected.
So yes.
Weâll practice the crate routine.
Weâll learn to settle.
Weâll build resilience.
But donât forget something important:
Weâve been waiting all day.
And weâre just really, really happy youâre home. â€ïž
Now⊠whereâs the red ball?
â Mimi đŸ
