🐾 Arrival & The "Chalet" Routine
Mimi arrived from Texas as "Mia," but a sign from her past returned her to her original name: Mimi. Her transition wasn't easy; she struggled with dog introductions and shared space.
We established her Chalet (crate) as her safe haven, switched her to a raw diet to create nutritional abundance, and used structured movement to help her coexist with our senior pack leader, Marrue.
🌳 Gatineau Park Exposure
Building Mimi’s confidence meant facing triggers head-on. We spent countless hours in Gatineau’s busy parks, practicing calm exposure in high-traffic areas. By providing leadership and predictability, she learned to trust our guidance over her own reactive instincts.
Facing these challenges built real confidence—not just for Mimi, but for us as her handlers.
🐕 A Year of Transformation
Today, Mimi is so relaxed she joins us on client training sessions as a calm example. While she wears her Pro Muzzle as a safety standard until her six-month "no incident" milestone, her progress is undeniable.
She has traded counter surfing for morning snuggles. When the house gets loud, she simply retreats to her Chalet—her chosen safe space. She’s no longer a reactive rescue; she’s a balanced employee.
